Fae Farm is PHX Labs’ love letter to farm-sims: a cozy, enchanting place with real magic hiding behind every corner. In building out the core creative direction, we wanted to speak directly to those folks (like us) who already deeply love restorative, pastoral experiences, while also highlighting some things we feel are pretty unique about our spin on the genre.

For the most part we chose to go entirely in-engine (video lead Lei Zhang) and just let the beauty of product director Katie DeSousa’s artistic vision speak for itself. And for the surrounding assets, we relied on the incredible Will Murai (illustration) and Michael Lee (design) to create a hand-crafted, personal feel that hopefully conveys just how much we care about this world and the players we hope will choose to explore it.

Finally, we celebrated the run-up to launch with a ton of activations and assets, the marquee being a first-of-its kind, build-your-own cozy space ambient experience featuring 64 variations of full hand-drawn 2D animation courtesy of our friends at PSYOP and All Boats Rise.

Fae launched on Steam and Nintendo Switch in September of 2023!
